What I use to 3D Print
3D Printer
I test print all my sets on an old Mars 2 Pro which has a 2k (50 micron) screen. I have had zero issues with this printer and can whole heartedly recommend Elegoo products. Unfortunately the Mars 2 Pro is so old it’s no longer sold. The newest, and thankfully affordable, version of this printer is the Mars 4 which is superior to the Mars 2 Pro in every way.
While the Mars 4 looks amazing, my next upgrade will most likely be to the more expensive Uniformation GK2 which has a great screen (that can be upgraded to 12k) and a ton of quality of life improvements such as a flip lid, drip free resin vat, integral vat heater and more.
Resin
Currently I use a mix of 90% Sirayatech Fast Navy Grey with 10% Sirayatech Tenacious. I don’t measure exactly and just top off the Fast Navy Grey Bottle with the Tenacious. This is both detailed and flexible but is a bit on the more expensive side. I’m looking at testing out Anycubic ABS-Like Resin Pro 2 and AmeraLabs TGM-7 for superior results.
Wash and Cure Station
When I first got my Elegoo Mars 2 Pro, I picked up the Elegoo Mercury Plus 2 in 1 Wash and Cure Station as well. This is pretty space efficient and does the job. The lid is a bit of a pain to seal on the alcohol container though and I wish there was a better method. I’ve heard sonic cleaners work better but they also require a dedicated curing station as there are no 2 in 1 options that I know of. I’m on the hunt for an upgrade but don’t know which to pick up yet.
Spill Mat
They don’t sell the specific knock off brand spill mat I bought any more but if you’re looking to grab one get one that is at least 28″x18″. This is big enough to provide a nice work area but not too large as to take up your entire desk. Something like that the Gorilla Grip Mat would work perfectly.
